I was just informed yesterday that the day we have to pitch our ideas for the Nickelodeon project to Mike will now be Friday of this week. I freaking out right now. I have updated by production schedule because of this. I don't know how this effects the other dates however. The product design pitch is still on Monday. I worked on the production schedule on the basis that I didn't get the Nickelodeon Project.

Current Situation
Hi, well the situation here is a bit stressful. As I had stated previously, if you are not one of the ten chosen by Mike to have their ideas put forward to Nickelodeon, you have to do this advert for one of the product design students. Not only have we not seen the products, but I can't pick either. We have to contact the students that designed the products. All the products are luxury items, like Jaguar ice cube makers, letter opener pens, fancy soap, expensive junk really. That means until the day we pitch to Mike, I have to work on two different projects at the same time. Ahhhhh! So I have partnered with Al, if we are successful with Mike, we will separate, but if not we will do the advert together. We have contacted all of the product design students to explain what their products are.

Here is a rough production schedule of what I know so far.

Aim of Project and Rough Production Schedule
The Project has officially started. The brief for this project is to produce a 10 second animated filler to run between programmes and commercials. Nickelodeon caters for an audience of children between the ages of 4 and 10. Think Tex Avery.
7th April Project starts
18th April Students pitch ideas to teachers
21st April Winning Students e-mailed
23rd April Application forms completed
6th May First pitch to Nickelodeon
(Pitches either green lit or rejected)
12th June Second pitch to Nickeloden with Storyboards
21st July Deadline
So the really important days is the 18th April and 6th May, that's the day the project sinks or swims.
As to Mike's suggestion, the way I approached was to come up with some really engaging and amusing characters with identifiable personalities that could be cast in a variety of different situations.
I hope this is what they are looking for.
